A new small pond for Hausen vor Wald
At the end of February 2018, a 400 m² small pond was created south of the Kennerbach stream in the “Hinteres Föhrle” area near Hausen vor Wald in the freezing cold.
This measure is intended to promote animal and plant species that are tied to wetland habitats. Many of these species are under nature conservation and are highly endangered. These include the crested newt already found in the area and various dragonfly species.
The “Hintere Föhrle” is also a habitat for the beaver. These can develop freely here and make a contribution to biotope design without causing damage.
